What is a knowledge base and how do I view its contents?
A knowledge base is your site content that has been read, broken down into text snippets, and stored. Before answering, the chatbot retrieves the most relevant snippets to the question and answers from there.
To view the contents, open Select site → Knowledge base → Content of knowledge base card. Choose Source (Live index used by the chatbot, or Check Results), select Category, or type a word like “price” or “contact” in the filter box.
How do I update the knowledge base after my site content changes?
Open Select site → Knowledge base → Update knowledge base, click Check, wait about 1 to 2 minutes, check the report, then click Apply. During Check, the chatbot doesn’t change at all.
Apply takes about 1 minute. For the entire site, the button is labeled Apply to entire index and asks for confirmation, as all old snippets are deleted and the result is irreversible.
Pro and Studio update the knowledge base automatically every week. Automatic updates are applied directly without Check. Free and Starter use manual updates.
What does the Check report contain?
The check report on the Knowledge base page is opened from the report list below the Check button. The top shows a one-sentence summary, the line “List of pages from” (sitemap, links on the homepage, or homepage only), and four numbers: Pages, Text snippets, Text discarded, and LLM results rejected.
- Skipped pages: pages that failed to retrieve, returned HTTP errors, or had empty text.
- Pages to review: remaining menus or footers are still high (Noise column above 0.35) or AI cleaning results were rejected.
- Why discarded lines, All pages, and Example snippet to check the result format.
How do I re-check just one page?
In the report table (Pages to review or All pages), click Re-check on that page’s row. The result appears as Check Result, and the Apply button only replaces that page. Other pages remain in the knowledge base.
For multiple pages at once, open Advanced options on the Update knowledge base card and fill Check specific pages only with a starting address as a regex, for example ^/blog/. This option only applies to one Check. The chatbot doesn’t change before you press Apply.
Why are the Check and Apply buttons disabled and say “Processing…”?
Your site is locked because another process is running: Check from another tab, results being applied, weekly automatic update, or initial ingest. The Check, Apply, and Re-check per page buttons are disabled while the lock is active.
The panel displays a message like “This site is being checked. Wait until the process is complete, then start again.” along with the start time, and checks every 6 seconds. The buttons become active again when the process is complete. The lock expires automatically after 45 minutes if the process dies mid-way.
What are Information completeness and Business type in the Knowledge base?
Information completeness is a card in Select site → Knowledge base that checks if important information for your business type is present on your site, such as price, DP, revisions, or opening hours. The score is displayed like 9/10.
Your business type determines the checks and guesses made from your site’s content. Change it if it’s incorrect. Options: Service / agency, Online store, Physical store / retail, Food & beverage, SaaS / application, Health & beauty, Education, Hotel, tourism & events, Property, and Other. Checking uses keywords, so errors are possible. Open the linked source page to confirm.
How do I fill in important information that isn’t on my site?
On the Information completeness card, the Needs completion section has two buttons per item. Fill manually: type the answer (maximum 600 characters) then Save. The bot uses this answer directly without re-ingestion. Add to web: copy the suggested text, write it on your site page, then Check and Apply.
If the information isn’t relevant to your business, click Not applicable to my business on the Manual fill form. The item moves to Not applicable (n) and can be restored via Restore. Manually filled answers appear in Filled manually with Edit and Delete fill buttons.
Why isn’t my site page being read or added to the knowledge base?
- Sitemap is missing or the address is incorrect: the report says “Listing pages from: homepage only”. Check Select site → Settings → Sitemap path.
- Page content only appears after JavaScript runs (React, Vue): enable server-side rendering or pre-rendering. Or try Render mode in Advanced options (auto, always, or never).
- Page returns an error, fails to load, or is empty: listed in Skipped pages with the reason.
- Max. pages in Advanced options can’t exceed your plan limit: 200 pages in Free, 500 in Starter, 1,000 in Pro, 2,000 in Studio.
Re-read triggers from the dashboard are limited per site: 10 times per 24 hours in Free, 20 in Starter, and 30 in Pro or Studio.
